Stockholm Riddarholm church | The large and conspicuous Riddarholm Church (Riddarholmskyrkan) in old town Stockholm. It is situated on the south side of the Birger Jarsltorg square in Stockholm. Originally it belonged to a Franciscan friary but was much altered in later centuries. The cast-iron steeple (1841), 90m/295ft high, is a prominent Stockholm landmark. The church, the burial-place of the Swedish monarchs, has been used since 1807 only for burials and memorial services.
